Priestly Ordination 2026
Rev. Deacon Dasith Mihiran was ordained a priest on 2nd June at Queen of he Holy Rosary Cathedral , Galle by Rt. Rev. Dr. Raymond Wickramasinghe.
Deacon Dasith Mihiran, born on the 04th of March 1996 is the second of three sons of Mr. N. V. Dharmasiri and late Mrs. Violet Gunasekara of the Parish of Hiniduma. He studied at Mallika Navodya Vidyalaya, Hiniduma and St. Aloysius’ College, Galle.
Responding generously to God’s call, he entered St. Francis Xavier’s Minor Seminary, Kalegana, Galle on 11th January 2010. In 2017, he continued his formation at “Daham Sevana” Propaedeutic Seminary, Kalutara. In 2018, he entered St. Francis Xavier’s Major Seminary, Jaffna, where he completed his philosophical studies. Thereafter, in 2020, he joined the National Seminary of Our Lady of Lanka and successfully completed his theological studies and priestly formation in 2025.
He was ordained a deacon on 05th of November 2025 by Rt. Rev. Dr. Raymond Wicramasinghe, the Bishop of Galle and practiced his diaconal ministry at St. James’ Church Gurunagar, Jaffna and the Cathedral of the Queen of the Holy Rosary, Galle.
The newly ordained priest will celebrate his Thanksgiving Holy Eucharist on Sunday, 07th June 2026 at 8.30 a.m. at St. Anne’s Church, Hiniduma.
