Scholarship Programme for the Needy Children by CoDeSeP
Scholarship Support for Poor and Needy Children in Deniyaya, Udugama, Hulandawa, Thalgasawala,and Thalangaha.
On 19th January 2026, scholarships were provided to poor and needy children in the Deniyaya area under the project “A Helping Hand to the Plantation People of Sri Lanka.” This programme was conducted as part of the three-month evaluation of the scholarship initiative and to reaffirm the purpose of supporting children from vulnerable plantation families to continue their education with dignity and hope. The activity was carried out under the leadership of Rev. Fr. Patrick Prasanth (OMI), Director of CoDeSeP. A total of 100 students benefited from this scholarship programme, and several parents also participated, expressing their gratitude and encouragement towards their children’s education. This initiative stands as a meaningful step in empowering plantation community children and strengthening their educational future.
